Cozy Up at One of These Walla Walla Coffee Shops
The 100 degree weather during the summer seems like but a faint memory during these colder winter months. However, the cold that brittles our bones is easily cured with a hot coffee or tea in one of the Valley’s many wonderful sit-down coffee shops.
Whether you’re studying, looking to get some work done, meeting up with friends or are just trying to stay warm, these are a few sit-down coffee shops in the Valley that you simply must try.
1. Walla Walla Roastery
#BlackCoffeeTradition is alive and well at the Walla Walla Roastery. While you can find Roastery coffee used at a variety of coffee shops and restaurants around town, their coffee shop in the Airport District is a gem worth discovering.
The Roastery boasts a small, intimate coffee experience paired with friendly and knowledgeable baristas, immaculate coffee and pieces from local artists on display. Their outdoor fire table is perfect for those slightly warmer, but still cool and breezy days.
2. The Atlas
While Walla Walla University’s student-run coffee shop in College Place is a study hot-spot for collegiates, it is open to the public, and a great spot to sit down and read a good book or read student-written articles and opinion pieces in the school’s newspaper — the Collegian.
The Atlas’ seating setup is impressive. The relatively small two-story space boasts several large tables for groups of 4+, several couches to get cozy, and barstools both upstairs and at the coffee counter. Even so, the space doesn’t feel crowded on an average day — but rather relaxed and open.
If you do want to experience a crowded night at The Atlas, keep your eye out for their open mic nights. With an incredible amount of local student talent at WWU, it is an event that never fails to impress.
3. Colville Street Patisserie
The Patisserie has been around for 15 years, and is a Walla Walla hot-spot any time of the year. Serving beautifully crafted coffee drinks and a variety of delicious pastries, it is sure to leave you feeling satisfied.
The space is light and bright and sure to lift your spirits and warm your soul on a cold, foggy winters day.
4. Livit Coffee
Livit Coffee is one of the newest shops around town. The space is light and open with lots of options for seating. They have bar spots, comfy couches and tables!
They serve custom roasted coffees, and they do not disappoint! Also on the menu are smoothies, cold brew, and baked goods! Livit is a popular spot to meet to study, or for a post workout smoothie!
5. Coffee Perk
Recently remodeled, Coffee Perk offers seating for ranges from single people to larger groups. Their menu is extensive; smoothies, elixirs, teas and of course, coffees! A menu of seasonal offerings is next to register for when you feel like trying something new! They also offer a variety of delicious baked goods: bagels, coffee cakes, and even cupcakes! The atmosphere is busy but it’s easy to find a secluded seat.
Coffee Perk is a great environment for study groups, recreational readers, and friends meeting for coffee!
